Jemez Caravan
The gang got together for the breakfast buffet at the Sandia Casino to fuel up (us,
not the cars) for the caravan through the Jemez to Santa Fe and Madrid. In spite of
the heavy rain the day before the weather cooperated and we managed to not get wet.
The gray skies also seemed to make the leaves even more colorful. We drove through the
Jemez stopping a couple of times for pictures and of course at the Valle Grande. Mike
Rothman even did a little dance for the rest of us. When we hit White Rock, Lori called
Mike Ragsdale and he and his wife invited us to their house for burgers and hot dogs for
lunch. They had plenty left over from the previous weeks get together that suffered from
rain. We then came back to Albuquerque via NM14 passing through the Ortiz Mountains and
Madrid. Madrid was full of tourists so we just passed through. All in all a very enjoyable
and beautiful drive.
